Investing in experiences

Research conducted by the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas in Austin, indicates that individuals who invest in experiences rather than physical items tend to experience greater happiness. Involving 2,635 participants, the study revealed that those who spent money on activities like attending events, dining out, or traveling, reported higher happiness levels both immediately, and over time, compared to those who purchased material goods such as clothing or gadgets.

This finding was consistent across different spending categories, regardless of the amount spent. The researchers noted that the joy derived from experiences often lasts longer than the temporary satisfaction gained from material possessions.

You heard it here - get your self outdoors, get down to the gym, book that trip, do something you've never done before and do it with good people.
