The Oman Botanic Garden, located just outside Muscat near Al Khoudh, it will span 430 hectares and aims to showcase Oman's incredible biodiversity by recreating eight native habitats: Monsoon cloud forests, Wadis (dry riverbeds), Northern Hajar mountains, Monsoon-affected mountains in southern Oman, Coastal areas of the central desert, Jebel Sufra and Qurn Mubarak.
Featuring two biomes that mimic these natural environments, the garden will highlight native and endemic plant species, as well as traditionally cultivated crops and their uses in Oman.
Set to be the largest botanical garden in the Arabian Peninsula and one of the largest globally, it emphasizes sustainability with energy-efficient structures and responsible material sourcing. It will offer a unique educational and recreational space that celebrates Oman's rich botanical heritage.
